C.01 – EUROPE
C.01 — Europe is a collection that explores metropolitan infrastructure as complex systems of interrelationships between space, technology and human behaviour. Through the analysis of technical network data, urban characteristics and the logic of connections between cities, the collection interprets the metro not only as a transport infrastructure, but as a cultural mechanism that shapes and reflects the social nature of the contexts in which it operates.
The project explores five European cities — Naples, Marseille, Bucharest, Athens and Barcelona — each examined through a specific data structure that highlights their identity, density and urban dynamics. Completing the system, a section dedicated to Milan examines three different representations of its metro lines, offering a multi-layered interpretation of the city as an infrastructural and cultural ecosystem.
C.01 — Europe thus takes the form of a visual atlas in which technical data becomes a narrative tool, capable of linking urban geography and human behaviour within interconnected and constantly evolving systems.
